Why is it different? Our Compass is unique for its multiple components – human-driven, community-based, AI-empowered – combined in one tool. We lead with human experience, foster community for mutual support, and use AI to better activate our collective knowledge.
Why call it “Compass”? Because it reflects the tool’s purpose. A compass orients and helps us navigate. It sets a direction that we can align with based on our goals and needs. We can all use a compass, no matter who we are.
Who is it designed for? Everyone who’s managing, leading, or supporting collaboration.
When will it launch? February 2027, after an extensive global co-creation process beginning in August 2026.
How much will it cost? We’ll have different subscription options available at different price points for different lengths of time and different levels of access. We’ll figure out the specifics during the co-creation process. More info to come!
Why are you running a co-creation process? By engaging with experts from around the world through multiple methods, our co-creation process will enable us to integrate highly diverse experiences and perspectives, making the tool customizable to anyone using it, no matter their context or challenges.
How can I contribute to the co-creation? There are two main ways to contribute. You can join as a Collaboration Fellow, a year-long program where you share your experience and expertise to help shape the tool. Or you can participate in one of our Community Conversations, open sessions running from September through November where practitioners come together to share knowledge on strategy, resource mobilization, and MEL. You can also sign up for our newsletter and engage with us on LinkedIn.
How does the AI work? We’ve chosen to build our tool on Circle.so, a customizable AI-native community-building platform. “AI-native” means that the AI is at the core of how the platform operates and is managed.
Our Compass will serve as a closed system in which knowledge generated and shared within the community will be captured and fed back into our knowledge base, continuously improving it.
Importantly, the data we feed into our knowledge base is only used for the AI agents we create. It’s not shared with or used by AI/LLMs (or Circle) to train models or for any other purpose than serving our AI agents (see here).
You can find more details about Circle as an AI-native platform, about how Circle approaches AI agents, and about creating and managing the knowledge engine for AI agents.
