Network Development Learning Collaborative: Testimonials and Outcomes

What would you like to achieve?

We delivered a previous version of the Network Development Learning Collaborative (LC) with coalitions across Africa and the Middle East from December 2025 to March 2026.

During the final session, coalitions in Jordan, Nigeria, and Somalia shared the outcomes they’d achieved through that LC:

Jordan Coalition

  • Developed its first governance framework

  • Updated bylaws through a participatory process

  • Created three governance committees

  • Increased member ownership and engagement

Nigeria Coalition

  • Clarified Board and Secretariat roles

  • Improved internal communication

  • Introduced stronger governance and accountability practices

Somalia Coalition

  • Strengthened governance and strategic alignment

  • Applied learning to advocacy, partnerships, and organizational planning

We also heard their direct feedback about how the LC had been valuable to them. Below are lightly edited testimonials collected from coalitions in Jordan, Nigeria, and Somalia during the final session of that LC.

“The Learning Collaborative gave us the opportunity to reassess our capacities, strengthen our governance system, and learn from other coalitions facing similar challenges. We developed our first governance framework, updated our bylaws through a participatory process, and significantly improved ownership and engagement across our coalition.” — Jordan Coalition

“Listening to the experiences of other coalitions helped me realize that many of the challenges we face are shared. The Learning Collaborative strengthened my confidence as a leader and gave me practical tools to improve board engagement, strengthen our policy framework, and create clearer operational guidelines.” — Nigeria Coalition

“The assessments helped us understand our strengths, document our weaknesses, and create a roadmap for continuous improvement.” — Jordan Coalition

“We learned practical approaches to governance, accountability, and leadership that we are now integrating into our organizational structure and strategic planning. The learning has strengthened how we align our vision, partnerships, and advocacy work.” — Somalia Coalition

“The Learning Collaborative gave us a much clearer understanding of the distinct roles of the Board and Secretariat. We’ve already changed how we approach internal decision-making, improved communication, and are taking concrete steps to strengthen our governance and accountability.” — Nigeria Coalition

“What truly made this journey unique was that it was grounded in real-life experiences. Hearing how coalitions in Nigeria, Somalia, and elsewhere approached similar challenges gave us practical ideas that we were able to adapt in our own coalition.” — Jordan Coalition

“The experience gave me the confidence to contribute more effectively in international policy spaces and reinforced my commitment to building a stronger, well-governed coalition.” — Nigeria Coalition

“I hope there will be a second version of this Learning Collaborative. It’s one of the few opportunities we’ve had to work through governance challenges in such a practical way.” — Jordan Coalition
